Hoya Australis Lisa
Pot: 15cm Plant Height: 50cm
Light: Needs bright, indirect light. Strong direct sunlight will scorch the leaves. Will benefit from some early morning or late afternoon sunshine. Can cope in light shade but unlikely to bloom. Does well under artificial light making it ideal for office environments.
Water: Hoya are succulents and store water. Allow the top half of the soil to dry out between watering, then water deeply and allow to drain thoroughly. Do not over-water as too much water will kill the plant. Water sparingly in winter.
Temperature: Happy in room temperatures from 18-24°C. Avoid droughts and extreme temperatures. Prefers to be kept warm (ie above 16°C).
Humidity: Prefers higher levels of humidity.
Feed: Apply a weak general purpose fertilizer during the summer.
Care tips: Hoya flowers may produce drops of sticky nectar, this is completely normal but remember to protect your furniture.
Height and Growth Rate: Fast growing climber with trails up to 3m. Prune trails in Spring to maintain desired length.
Toxicity: Sap contains latex which is a skin irritant and is considered toxic, therefore keep away from children and animals.
